Fotopic

Ik weet dat er een aantal mensen fotopic gebruiken om hun foto's online te zetten. Ik krijg echter al een aantal dagen geen verbinding. Iemand dezelfde problemen of weet wat er aan de hand is?

en ik maar denken dat je je foto's offline had gezet, was namelijk nog eens jou V8 topics aant nalezen maar de foto's waren al verdwenen.

Uiteraard kan ik strax in 2014 niet voor beiden de belasting ophoesten..

Ik heb over 9 jaar honderden foto's met tekst erbij geplaatst. Die zet je niet even opnieuw op een andere site. Gewoon nog maar eens even afwachten wat gebeurd.

Ik ben ook al jaren lang fotopic gebruiker en stond op het punt om ruimte bij te gaan kopen.... Ik denk niet dat dat nog gaat gebeuren.

[en.wikipedia.org] meldt ook al dat ze het niet weten. DB weet te melden dat via de KVK schijnt te zien te zijn dat ze failliet aan het gaan zijn.

Kennelijk over en uit. Doorstart kan, was dat vorig jaar niet ook al?

Hoi Wim,

Ben de laatste tijd niet zo actief meer met fotopic (en dit prikbord helaas), maar mijn website is inderdaad ook niet (meer) beschikbaar.
Even afwachten maar of de website nog terug gaat komen.

Heb ik vernomen dat het goed gaat komen, maar wanneer.... hij gaf eerder aan "vandaag", en die dag gebeurde er niets maar hij hield vol. Deze persoon heeft inside info maar zegt verder NIETS.

Ik gebruikt het zelf ook en vindt dat het wel wat plus punten heeft in vergelijking met mijnalbum.of Flicker(die ik ook gebruikt)

Fotopic.net boss tells photographers: It's no technical problem

The boss of image-sharing website fotopic.net has today failed to reassure users about the fate of thousands of their images.

NEWS UPDATE: Fotopic.net heads for liquidation

It is estimated that up to 70,000 images have vanished from fotopic.net without warning - many users paying a premium rate for an account with the website.

Yesterday we photographers' fears that the company behind the site has hit the buffers and ceased trading.

This morning Amateur Photographer (AP) tracked down Stephen Dyer, director of Snappy Designs which owns fotopic.net.

AP relayed photographers' outrage over the apparent loss of their images as they clamour for information and try to contact the website's owner without success.

Here is a transcript of AP's call to Dyer, made at 8.30am today, in which he refused to answer many of our questions.

AP: You are the director of the company that owns fotopic.net. Do you know what's happened to the website and why it has disappeared?

Dyer: Yes I do, and I'm hoping to make a public statement about it. There are legal matters to be sorted out.

AP: Is the company in financial trouble? There is concern that it has ceased trading.

Dyer: I understand where you are coming from. I don't want to make a comment … [until the legal matters are resolved].

AP: There's a lot of people complaining because thousands of their pictures have disappeared. Do you know how long they will have to wait to get them back? Is the site going to reappear?

Dyer: I don't know. Obviously I'm doing my best. I would rather speak to you later today.

AP: People have paid a lot of money for a premium account. Will they get a refund?

Dyer: I will happily speak to you as soon as I can.

AP: Can you confirm that the company is still trading?
Dyer: I will give you all the information I can, when I can. I'm not being difficult…


AP: So it's not a technical problem with the website server then?

Dyer: It's true to say it's not a technical problem.

Alleen van mijn site, www.sportactiefoto.nl staan al meer dan 35000 foto`s op fotopic.net
Al meer dan 6 weken geen beeld meer te zien en niemand geeft informatie.
Ik kan wel janken !!!!!!

Daar ga ik vanuit !! En anders sluit ik dat tijdperk gewoon af en ga ik me bezig houden met andere zaken

heb even het forum stukjes gelezen maar is het wel een server probleem
zou wel jammer zijn als het niet meer terug komt want ik heb zo veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel foto`s daar staan van collega1s die met vut zijn gegaan
hoop dat het server probleem gauw verholpen is

Het is altijd het probleem dat een server onbereikbaar wordt gemaakt in zulike gevallen. Daar ligt echter nog een andere probleem achter, en dat is in dit geval simpelweg al beschreven in het berichtje van LeisureLandy hieronder: [landrover.startpagina.nl]

Als een bedrijf failliet gaat wordt de boel gelijk dichtgegooid. Dat kunnen ze dan nog wel Of... een ander doet dat voor ze, dat kan ook. Haha. Ik baal ook, mijn albums stonden er ook. Ook met beschrijvende teksten en zo, dat is vooral irritant dat ik DIE kwijt ben. Die foto's heb ik natuurlijk nog wel. Moet hooguit opnieuw uploaden naar iets anders. Maar goed, dat is mijn sores. Ik snap dat dat voor anderen anders kan liggen.

Als je zoals Cok aangeeft, er heel veel foto's hebt staan en het voor jou bedrijfsspul betekent, zou je wel eens schuldeiser kunnen worden.

Alle foto's die ik op het net plaats (gebruik alleen mijnalbum.nl) komen uit mijn computer dus kwijt ben ik ze nooit. Je kunt het beste een back-up op een stick zetten van foto's die je ergens op het net plaatst.
