Defender fron Holland to Finland

Hello!
Here in Finland we haven't lot of Defenders and I and my friend are coming to buy Defenders from Holland. We are coming jan-march 2006 perhaps. Can you tell me, how we can find cheap and good Landy. Where are cheap and goos Landys? Terhorst is cheap, but... are cars good condition? We looking defender 90 SW with tdi 200 (about 1992).

I suppose your research revealed that prices are OK in Holland?! 'Commercial' vehicles (two-seaters) are in the NL comparatively low priced at the moment because of a change in tax law. So best thing to do is:

-check in advance (websites of) a couple of places like Ter Horst. (check out [landrover.startpagina.nl] under 'Bedrijven NL' )
-Educate yourself on the standard technical checks to perform (chassis, engine/ gearbox condition etc) You can always try here.......

Interesting to hear from Landrover enthiousiasts from Finland. I am actually surprised that in Finland you do not have many Landrovers, to my (little) knowledge it should be an ideal area for this 4x4 truck.

Anyway, I can provide you with a webpage which has links to Landrover companies in the Netherlands, which should give you a good overview of available cars (both from dealers as from non dealers). The link is:

On the welcome page you see in the window the word 'autobedrijven'. Under this word there is a link which guides you to a map of the Netherlands with all kind of Landrover related companies. The red points are normal trading companies, blue ones are Landrover dealers and yellow points are parts specialists. The single green point is a company providing Landrover maintenance courses.

Maar na de proefrit kwam ik tot de conclusie geen serie II man te zijn.
Ik prefereer liever een automaat dan me knieen te moeten klutsen

Dus zoals ik je telefonisch al had medegedeeld ga ik verder met verkoop of ruil ik liever met een belastingvrije RR voorzien van automaat.

Sorry, but me english language is very poor, but better than holland-language (¤¤%& "#¤¤). I don´t undenstand nothing

We have in Finland only about 50 Land Rovers (90 and 110 model, years 1989-1995 and more (about 350 years 199. Old Landys (88 /109) we have about 400 (-1988). We know that Holland is not cheapest place and lot of cars come to Holland from Germany, but Holland and Belgium are very cheap place to our. Holland is little and fast land drive all around and looking Landys, but Germany is so large land that it´s hard to find "good" Landy. So I think.



We have in Finland only 2951 LR/RR, and wery much Toyotas ang japanese 4x4.

First of all good that you found your way to this platform. This is THE central place for Land Rover enthousiasts on the NL web.

Back to your search, if you check the websites of the Land Rover companies, phone them if they stock your kind of Landy and place these places on a (virtual) map you should be able to make a nice trip and decide while you are here.

Hello!
In Finland we have diesel tax law. You must pay very high diesel tax payment if you have 3-9 seater diesel car. If you have 2-seater diesel car you can save about 400-600 euros per year. Pick up or 2-seater diesels have only 70-150 euros payment in year, but original diesel Landy have about 600- 700 euros tax per year. Diesel cost 1 euro per litre and insurance premium is about 200-800 euros per year. Example 2-seaters "van"- register car have only about 250 euros insurance premium, but original 4x4 car have bigger payments.

If you want get 2-seater, cheap-tax Landy, you must get off backseaters. If you get Landy to Finland from outlands, you must pay 30% custom tax. Example Landy 90 (1994) price is about 7000 euros in Dutch, but you must pay about 4000 euros custom tax in Finland, because 7000 euros Landy in Dutch cost about 12000 euros in Finland. You must calculate 30% custom tax from Finland´s price. Custom officers look from list, what is Landy´s price in dealers stocks in Finland and order payment. It's not cheap operation , but if you want Landy, you must bring it from outside of Finland because we haven´t enough Landys. It´s stupid.

We got the same lage road taxes, and also the cheap Van-regulation. only this is cancelled for private cars. So thaths why the landy´s are cheaper here than half a year ago. It is called grijs kenteken, thta means no back seats and no windows at the back.
