Land Rover Prikbord

Is het verwisselen van de ball-joint van het a-frame boven het achter diff van een Disco 1994 een makkelijke klus?
Zijn er nog dingen die gelijk vervangen moeten worden?

ik zou het ook zelf willen doen,

demonteren is al een klus (uit de zitting slaan)
maar voor het monteren moet je helemaal bruut te
werk gaan, dus beter slim laten doen met een grote
pers oid.

iemand ideen of ervaring met een smeerbaar item??
gaam deze langer mee??? of niet evenredig met de prijs?

Ik heb het vorig jaar gedaan. Mij werd verteld dat het niet zo'n moeilijke klus was. Viel op zich ook wel mee, alleen ik kreeg met geen mogelijkheid de ball uit z'n behuizing. Dat heb ik inderdaad laten doen mbv een zware pers. Voor de rest was het voor mij goed te doen.

Soak the top sticking trough the carrier in penetrating oil for a day or three/four and do the same to the bolts and the castelated nut and splitpin. Undo the splitpin,undo the nut on the bottom, take it off to ensure the thread is fine and put it back on a few threads. Jack up the chassis till the axle just comes off the ground and support ithe chassis with axle stands. Smack the axle casing close to the balljoint (the horizontal edge on the back just below the balljoint works best) 'till the joint pops out.
Tighten the nut back up till it's almost fastened. Take the two bolts out that keep the top in. Smack the carrier till the complete balljoint falls out.
If you succeeded at this and are about to fit a new balljoint take the wirebrush and clean the hole it sits in in the carrier 'till you see blue in the face and apply a coat of Land Rover owner's best friend to it before you re-assemble the thing. (coppergrease) and use that on the splitpin too.
If all this fails, get a new carrier and balljoint.
There is no way you can properly use a press to press it out allthough you might take the carrier out and try the hammer and chissel method which will ruin the thing.
Check the nut for tightness after a number of miles to see if it's settled and don't forget the splitpin.

begrijp ik dat je hem makkelijker erin kreeg dan eruit Michel?

Je kan ook een luchthamer onderop de schroefdraad van de balljoint zetten.

Voorzichtig de 'vleugeltjes' van de oude balljoint afzagen (zonder de carrier te beschadigen), dan heb je steun om hem er uit te persen. Terugzetten kan het beste ook met een pers.
