Wat is een performance cam??????

Land Rover - 4 cyl Upgrades
The Land Rover 4 cyl engine has a lot of potential locked away inside.

For about the same price of a set of tyres, you can fit the following to a regular 4 cyl engine and have greatly improved peformance and economy:

Peformance Cam: Better top end and torque, no loss in low end torque at all.

High Compression Cyl head : Increase compression to around 9:1 without affecting reliability

Higher flow carb like Weber 34ICH, 36 DCD or Zenith equivalent

Peformance exhaust Manifold: Branched and tuned exhaust manifold to replace the cast iron original

Free-Flow pipework and silencer : Help the engine get rid of old exhaust gasses better.

Out of the above list the cam upgrade gives the best peformance increace, the higher compression head is second in line.

The carb and exhaust mods are, however, definately worth the extra money, especially if the existing carb is a Solex.

Hoi Paulo.

dat is een zogenaamde 'snellere' nokkenas. Door andere nokhoogten haal je meer uit een (standaard) motor. Door een nokkenas profiel te kiezen dat optimaal is op hoge toeren kan het motorblok meer toeren maken. Dit gaat vaak wel ten koste van het koppel bij lage toeren.

Kan interessant zijn (koppel bij lage toeren echter niet voor terreinrijden). Zorg wel dat de motor in goede algemene conditie is.

tnxs ik wist niet dat een "cam" het zelfde was als nokken-as.

Ik denk niet dat ik zo'n as hoef.

koppel bij lage toeren kan ook er zijn bijv. voor de V8 nokkenassen leverbaar die vanaf 1250 bijna vol koppel leveren tot 4500 t.p/m
deze zijn perfect voor terreinrijden

tot nokkenassen die "beginnen" bij 3200 en door gaan tot 6500 t.p/m. of meer
leuk voor lichte sportwagens i.e. lotus7, cahterham, morgan V8 etc.
